Melbourne’s Border Force offices at Tullamarine Airport underwent a deep clean over the weekend after a Customs House cleaner tested positive for coronavirus.
However, officials have played down the risk to the general public as the building is not located on the airport’s main complex.

“The Department was advised yesterday by our property service provider that a staff member of one of their cleaning subcontractors tested positive to COVID-19 on Saturday, 27 June,” the ABF said in a statement.
“The safety and wellbeing of our officers remains a key priority in protecting our borders.
“The Department will follow all directions provided by Victorian Health.”
The news comes after an apparent second spike of cases in Victoria, where 75 people tested positive on Sunday. However, the findings come alongside a “testing blitz” that has seen the state dramatically increase its testing capacity to stamp out the cluster.
The 75 cases confirmed represents the fourth-highest single-day total since the pandemic took hold in Australia, though numbers in hospital and ICU remain low.
Victoria’s chief health officer Brett Sutton said the figures were “absolutely concerning”.
Australian Aviation last week reported that the increase has caused some states and territories to row back on promises to open their borders.
