A flying school instructor and his student performed a textbook emergency landing in their Beechcroft 95-B55 Baron after its nosewheel failed to lower. You can watch the video of the landing here.
The incident took place at 1:30am on Wednesday at Adelaide’s Parafield Airport and the pair climbed out of the cockpit suffering no injuries.

The Hartwig Air instructor repeatedly circled above the airport while waiting for the emergency services to arrive, and even had time to call the school’s chief pilot for advice.

The ABC reports the pilot first reported a problem with the nosewheel just after midnight and the aircraft eventually landed on the tarmac causing sparks to fly.
The aircraft will now be examined for mechanical problems and a report will be prepared for the ATSB.
Hartwig Air chief executive David Blake said, “The pilot in command, who is an experienced training pilot, went through the emergency drills so he ended up lowering the gear by hand.
“When it lowered there was an unsafe warning light on the nose gear. He even had time to call the chief pilot to talk to him about the situation to see if there was anything else he could try.
“Once the emergency services were in place he did a landing at the slowest possible speed.”
Hartwig Air describes itself as the oldest established flying school at Parafield Airport and says it has trained more than 3,000 combined commercial and private pilots.
The business trains commercial pilots under the AD023HA Associate Degree of Aviation (Professional Pilots).
Meanwhile, the Beech 95-B55 Baron is a true 180 knots, six-seat aircraft that is capable of climbing in excess of 2000 fpm.
