The independent statutory body responsible for advising the government on decisions relating to infrastructure has unveiled newfound criticism of the project, suggesting that it be delayed until passenger demand can justify the cost.
Speaking at the CBA’s Sustainability Conference, Qantas CEO Alan Joyce argued the country should be taking advantage of its huge landmass to develop SAFs, which are often derived from used cooking oil and other waste products.

The airline’s troubled ‘non-stop’ service between New York and Auckland will now fly the entire distance direct as intended, despite passengers on the upcoming flight previously being warned of a stopover.
This is not the first time the new service has run into complications with its nonstop promise. A previous flight asked 15 passengers to leave the aircraft while another removed luggage so it could make the trip.
