The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) made the recommendation in its new report aimed at alleviating the “critical shortage” of talent in the industry.
Under the agreement, the chief executive officer of TAE, Andrew Sanderson, will be appointed CEO of ASDAM and join the board. ASDAM also confirmed the earlier announced acquisition of RUAG Australia.
New analysis from the sector’s professional body also revealed that total vacancies are now at the highest levels in a decade.
The professional body made the recommendation as part of its new report on the problem, which also suggested a greater emphasis on recognising the benefits of women and migrant engineers.
