Air New Zealand chief executive Christopher Luxon was in a New York state of mind when announcing the airline's Boeing 787-10 order in Auckland on Monday.

Air New Zealand has signed a letter of intent to purchase eight Boeing 787-10s – with options for up to 12 more aircraft – to replace its 777-200ER fleet.
